This open edition celebrates the first metaversary of the Melrakki Arctic fox conservation project on the blockchain. It's the final addition to the Melrakki collection that was minted one year ago on Opensea.
For the culture, but mostly for the foxes.
I'm a French professional photographer living in the Westfjords of Iceland, the most remote region of the country. During the last 10 years, I've been involved in scientific studies conducted by the Nature institute of Iceland, and have extensively documented the harsh life of the Arctic fox (Vulpes lagopus) in Iceland.
"Surviving" is the first "proper" image I got of an Arctic fox after two years of unsuccessful tries. It was taken in July 2014 during my first monitoring mission in Hornstrandir nature reserve, in the north of Iceland. It's an example of the foxes resilience to survive in such harsh environments.
All proceeds of this open edition will be added to the fund I created to publish a book about Arctic foxes...
