Stop the Gas Wars Club Kid

'Pleasure Island - Adventures in Nightlife' is a collection of Club Kid photographs taken in London's underground scene, carefully curated to provoke questions like "Who are these people, where are these places, what is going on?" Many are shot on Iphone, signifying both the rise of miniaturization and the desire to exist inside the moment rather than being an observer of it. Taken like this there is no separation of artist and spectacle as there is no prior intention to capture - just the awareness of finding oneself inside a moment that will only exist for a few seconds, and the impulse to document it. This sentiment also mimics the philosophy of blockchain, where transactions are preserved forever. By bringing the two together I hope to demonstrate what I first found in this world - energy and escapism away from the mundanity of normal life - and fuse them together into unity, balance and art. If we live in a simulation, surely it must run on a blockchain?
