We are in fact in many ways connected to these beings. If we let vanity take over our sole purpose of leaving our legacies behind, our faces, then we are no different to these fungi that seek immortality. We are The Higher Beings. Only 1001 of us beings will wake up to the sheer madness of vanity. We choose to let go of our faces, yet leave nothing but experiences and stories to cement our legacy. This is our pursuit of immortality, like the mushroom that lives of dirt yet flourishes.
