Mountain Gorilla #5

In 2016, I received an invite to travel to Rwanda and photograph mountain gorillas. After giving it some thought, I decided to take the opportunity and two weeks later I found myself on top of the Virunga Mountains. During my stay there, I had the opportunity to connect with the experts at the Dian Fossey Fund, who were responsible for protecting and caring for the mountain gorillas. Finding the gorillas was the most difficult part of the trip; long hours trekking through the jungle was required to reach the gorilla groups. There were moments I asked myself what I got myself into, but getting to spend time with the mountain gorillas was worth the effort. It was one of the most exhausting but also rewarding experience I had as a photographer.
