Curio Cards are the first art show NFTs on Ethereum, launched May 9, 2017 and pre-dating CryptoPunks. Recognized by Christie’s and Sotheby’s auctions, the collection marks a significant milestone in the integration of blockchain technology with digital art. Curio Cards consisted of a continuous “digital art show” that spanned four months, featuring 30 collectible digital cards by seven different artists. The project was the first on blockchain to enable payments from sales to be sent directly and in full to the artists — an early commitment to fair reward for digital art.
