SCANNERS offers a satirical take on our world, where attention, data, objects, and people are perpetually scanned and siphoned by dubious devices, oftentimes without even knowing it.
Visitors to NFT Paris are publicly interviewed by a robot, as if they were on a TV set. While answering a series of irreverent questions, their bodies are scanned, as well as their Twitter graphs. The data collected contributes to the creation of a uniquely generated NFT, a SCAN, created with Nicolas Sassoon.
The SCANs are akin to portraits of the conference's visitors, who are all members of the web3 community. Visitors can choose to buy or sell the NFT that captured their data.
A leaderboard will track and display the social performances of the visitors' SCANS, questioning the impact of digital visibility on decentralized distribution.
At the same time, a mural printing device created by Victor Vaysse will incorporate data created by all SCANs occurring during NFT Paris, thus digitally weaving a uniq
